Target Audience

My initial reasoning for choosing the Horror genre was since this specific genre has a mass audience. All over the world the Horror genre entices teen and adult demographics with new trailers, this urging them to view every second. This idea then worked in my favour as the Horror genre lures myself, the most. Being involved in the teen demographic personally I knew I could involve my experience with different types of Horror films, into my own film and create a trailer that will captivate my teen and adult demographic with fear and excitement.

Log-line

One night Matthew and Becca enter their hometowns most unwanted woods. 15 minutes after entering the mystic woods they come across a game book placed at the bottom of a tree trunk. They soon derive that it is a map of game; which these siblings willingly decide to play.

Characters

MATTHEW: He is 19yrs old. He is a university student, that has his heart set on the career goal of being a lawyer. He is academic, however round his friends from back home he acts as if he has no interest.

BECCA: BECCA is 16yrs old. She is academic; her favourite subject is history. BECCA shows this through her interest of the historical past of the places and landmarks she visits. She is the younger sister of MATTHEW. She is close with her brother, however don’t always see eye to eye.

Synopsis

5 yrs ago brother and sister, Matthew and Becca visited their towns most occult and superstitious woods, 10 yrs after it had been blocked off from entering. 15 minutes after entering the woods, they confront a ‘game book’ placed at the bottom of a crooked tree trunk. They open the book to a marked page, that seems to be written in the greek language. At the other side translated the words into a set of ‘game rules’. This follows to say; it is a race to see who is the quickest and quietest. You are competing against your friends. The one who remains incapable of these rules, will ‘join them’ and the game will be over. Underneath, they catch the eye of a sparse sentence; ‘ freedom or family?’. The instructions below state; ‘the game lasts for 24 hrs, in this time you are to find shelter and gather tactics to protect yourself from the silence’. The following day only one of the siblings who entered them forsaken woods, returned. 10yrs later, in the present no one in that town has ever spoken of the disappearance. On that same date 10yrs ago, the retreating sibling, who have grown, return back to the unforgiving woods to beat the masters at their own ‘game’.
